2026 Future Music Educators Scholarships

The Music for All Foundation is committed to investing in the next generation of music educators and leaders. These scholarships provide one-time awards to students who demonstrate exceptional potential to carry forward the power of music in their schools and communities. By supporting future educators, the Foundation helps ensure that music education continues to inspire, connect, and transform lives for years to come.   

Scholarship Awards

  • Fred J. Miller Family Scholarship - $2,000
  • Fred J. Miller Memorial Music Education Scholarship - $1,000
  • Yamaha Corporation of America Scholarship - $1,000   

Scholarships will be presented on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Grand National Finals Opening Ceremony. Recipients will be notified of their scholarship status the week of November 2.  

Applicant Criteria: 

    Applicants must be graduating seniors who:     

  •  Plan to pursue a degree in music education.    
  •  Demonstrate outstanding musicianship, leadership skills, and work ethic.    
  •  Plan to enroll in college within one year of graduating high school. 
  •  Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on other scales). 
  •  Will perform at a 2026 Bands of America Regional, Super Regional, or Grand National Championship.    

Application Requirements:      

   Each STUDENT must submit the following:

  1. A résumé of musical and leadership achievements focused on all aspects of academic, musical, extracurricular, and community service accomplishments. This resume should demonstrate the overall quality of the candidate.
  2. Band Director recommendation
  3. An essay of at least 500 but no more than 750 words addressing the following prompts: 
  • Please describe the experiences and/or people that have inspired you to become a music educator.
  • What traits do you feel are essential in a successful music educator, and how do you exemplify those traits?

 Applications and director recommendations are due on October 18, 2026.
